Billiards Hottie Profile - Sarah Rousey

April 3rd, 2008 by poolcuereview

All sorts of factors go into my selections for the monthly hottie profile. There are some like Shanelle that are super sexy and there are some like Sarah that just epitomize cuteness. Seriously, how freakin’ adorable is this girl! Not only is she pixie sized but she does something that you almost never see with pool players: she looks like she’s actually having a good time. She’s so damn cute I won’t even hold it against her that she’s a Sox fan. How anyone can choose the White Sox over the Cubbies is beyond me. Plus, she gets major points with me for being an advocate for a cure for diabetes.

See boys and girls, its not all about double D’s and glamour shots. Sometimes you’ve just gotta go with a girl with substance. Anyone interested in seeing more of Ms. Rousey should visit her site at www.sarahrousey9ball.com. Judging by how she’s been playing lately, hopefully we’ll be seeing her in some TV rounds in the near future.

Shenanigans

April 2nd, 2008 by poolcuereview

shenanigans.jpg

That’s it… I’m officially declaring shenanigans on the IPT.  According to the latest voting results, some guy named Vilmos Foldes is in the lead, capturing 15.76% of the vote.  I get Efren in 2nd, that makes sense.  He’s got a huge following worldwide, but Foldes?  Does he have the entire nation of Hungary voting for him?

At any rate, it appears that you all have been listening to my impassioned pleas to push votes for a Murphy v Strickland showdown.  They’re currently in 4th and 5th respectively, but that’s not enough.  Don’t you want to see if Earl can actually behave himself for an entire match?  You all know he can’t… that’s what makes Earl Earl.

So if you haven’t done so already, get out and vote!  You get 5 votes per user account, so as the IPT says, be sure to find some “friends” to vote too.

Let’s Get Ready To Suck It!!!

March 30th, 2008 by poolcuereview

fighting_irish.jpgRonnie O’Sullivan is now officially my favorite billiards player. I don’t know if he had one too many pints before his press conference but Ronnie said some bad things at his press conference after losing at the China Open. Some of the key quotes to take away include: “Do you want to suck that?” “Do you want to come and suck on that later?” “Fuck me, how many more questions are they going to ask?” and my favorite, which I will surely use the next time I’m drunk… “Anyone want to give me a nosh?”

My man is going to get hit with a nasty fine on this one, guaranteed. Sir Rodney Walker is reportedly pretty ripshit about it. Well… as ripshit as anyone who’s been knighted can get anyway. The Guardian over in the UK has been following this story. Also, if you’re so inclined, there’s a video of the press conference on some Chinese You Tubeish site.

Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide…

March 21st, 2008 by poolcuereview

People never learn. If you’re going to exaggerate, don’t do it in front of a camera where people can call bullshit on you. Danny’s a nice enough guy, but give credit where credit is due. So here’s the story… Basavich is at the expo hawking his DVDs and the book that was written about him. He gets interviewed by Rachael Abbink and proceeds to tell her about “his” book Running the Table.

Just to be clear, Basavich didn’t write the book. The book was written by L. Jon Wertheim, a senior editor for SI. The book is based on Basavich’s life, but that would make it a biography, not an autobiography. There’s a big difference between spinning a yarn and writing a novel. Why not give some credit to the guy who took your life story and turned it into something entertaining instead of telling the camera that its “your book”. Look, I hope that they make a movie out of Danny’s story. Done right it could be very entertaining and would be a very nice boost for the industry. I haven’t heard anything since Lions Gate bought the rights a couple years ago, but you never know. All I’m saying is the book wouldn’t exist if Wertheim didn’t write it, so the least he can do is give a shout out to the guy who wrote the book. Anyway, you can watch the interview and judge for yourself.
