Pool Cue News and Review

I’m not sure how I missed this woman, because she is downright wicked! Emily Duddy, a regular on the Ladies Spirit Tour, is all kinds of foxy and has earned the dubious honor of being named the PCN Pool Hottie for June 2008.

According to her Spirit profile, she rocks a Predator cue (natch) and does the bartending thing to pay the bills since there’s probably only a handful of women that can make playing pool a full time paying gig. Did I mention the lady’s got a brain in that celestial cranium too? She earned the old BA in Psych from UC Santa Cruz (go Fightin’ Banana Slugs!) which also probably explains her diggin’ on poker.

So let’s check the final score here: Pool player? Check. Smoldering eyes? Check. Brains? Check. Athletic? Check. More curves and a more spectacular view than the PCH? Check. Oh did I mention that she’s clearly into the whole Bettie Page/Suicide Girls thing too? Yeah, I’ll admit it. I’m crushing big time on the unbelievably sexy Ms. Emily Duddy. Looking forward to eventually seeing you on the WPBA tour Emily!

I don’t know what to say. I’m just so proud of my 3 faithful readers that you took part in creating the train wreck that will be the upcoming IPT challenge match. For those who haven’t seen it yet, the honorary fourth member of Hanson, Austin Murphy, has been selected by you “the fans” to play Efren Reyes. Now some of you might think this is just a mean way to set up a kid full of hopes and dreams. A kid with visions of barely scraping out a living playing pool once he gets old enough to go on the road and hustle suckers out of their dough. It really isn’t though.

As far as I’m concerned, this is a win/win. Austin gets to play against one of the greatest players of all time in Efren Reyes. The kid gets some exposure and good experience, Efren gets $5k and the IPT ends up laying a monster egg, as no one is really going to watch this (except friends and family of course).

This is gonna get ugly. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a score along the lines of 15-3 come April 29th.  Part of me would really like to watch it, but because I hate all things Kevin Trudeau, I’ll have to read about it on the AZ Billiards forum. I’m sure there will be someone from there willing to sit through 3 hours of pool shot in what looks like Freddy Kruger’s boiler room watching on a 17″ monitor.

I love this… Jeanette’s clearly got something other than pool on her mind as she accidentally draws a giant schlong with the telestrator. If you frequent the AZ Billiards forum, you’ve probably seen this one before, but I had to repost it anyway. Be sure to turn up the sound because shortly after Jeanette’s slip, someone tears off a crap inducing fart that even the commentators can’t ignore.

Congrats Liz!  Now I know where to play next time I’m in the city.

All sorts of factors go into my selections for the monthly hottie profile. There are some like Shanelle that are super sexy and there are some like Sarah that just epitomize cuteness. Seriously, how freakin’ adorable is this girl! Not only is she pixie sized but she does something that you almost never see with pool players: she looks like she’s actually having a good time. She’s so damn cute I won’t even hold it against her that she’s a Sox fan. How anyone can choose the White Sox over the Cubbies is beyond me. Plus, she gets major points with me for being an advocate for a cure for diabetes.

See boys and girls, its not all about double D’s and glamour shots. Sometimes you’ve just gotta go with a girl with substance.
