Q. Hey Jeanette, how should we cure the malaise that’s running through the billiards industry?
A. Let’s skank it up!
Apparently, Jeanette Lee thinks that a great way to cure pool’s woes is to embrace the sleazy hustling side of pool. When asked in her monthly “Ask Jeanette Lee” column in Billiards Digest the question of whether or not the industry should embrace gambling, her response was “I actually do agree that we should embrace the mystique of the ‘hustling’ side of pool”. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by this though since Jeanette is the ultimate hustler. She’s convinced companies like Rocawear that she is the face of pool, even though she can’t make it out of the second round in a WPBA tournament. If that isn’t hustling, I don’t know what is.
Look, I totally get the “embracing what you are” concept. It worked wonders for Las Vegas, but that’s different. Hustling is all about taking advantage of people and tricking them into losing money. With Vegas you know what you’re getting into. Jeanette’s suggestion that the industry “embrace hustling” is quite possibly one of the stupidest comments I’ve ever heard from a pool player. After all, what could be more fun than going to a pool hall and getting suckered out of your cash. Way to go Jeanette! Keep those ideas flowing!
Apparently it is indeed hard out there for a pimp. Despite earning a degree in thugonomics and a new “I will not lose” tagline courtesy of Rocawear, the Black Widow got dropped gansta style in the WPBA San Diego Classic. So let’s tally the score here… she loses in the first round to Line who hasn’t played on the tour in two years, getting bounced to the losers bracket. In her next game, she proceeds to lose to My-Hanh Lac and leaves the tournament without winning a single match. I’m not taking anything away from Kjorsvik or Lac, but it seems that Jeanette as of late is more focused on scoring endorsements than actually playing pool.
To make matters worse, my dream matchup of Liz Ford and Angel Paglia went down the shitter as Paglia got skunked 9-0 by Miyuki Sakai. The bright side though is that my two favorite girls are still in the hunt for the TV round and both look like they have reasonable path to get to the quarterfinals.
I love this… Jeanette’s clearly got something other than pool on her mind as she accidentally draws a giant schlong with the telestrator. If you frequent the AZ Billiards forum, you’ve probably seen this one before, but I had to repost it anyway. Be sure to turn up the sound because shortly after Jeanette’s slip, someone tears off a crap inducing fart that even the commentators can’t ignore.
Fucking priceless! The full clip with the post fart reaction from the commentators can be seen at Break.com. Since Wordpress is YouTube’s bitch, I couldn’t imbed the clip from Break.com.
