I Can See Russia From My Pool Room

Technically, this counts as last year’s news, since the bust went down on New Year’s Eve, but in what is becoming a very predictable trend, another pool room was raided. This time the haul was 23 pounds of Meth. According to the report, Ricky Reese, the owner of Shooter’s Billiards in Wasilla was the intended recipient of 23 pounds of Meth. The bust went down in Anchorage. In addition to the meth, the popo also grabbed 16 guns, some body armor and about 3,000 rounds of ammo.
Clearly, they haven’t see any of those meth commercials. If they had, I’m sure they would’ve chosen something far more innocuous.

You shit on people that contribute to giving the billiards industry a unsavory name and praise those that try to improve it. With this in mind, why would you report on a year old drug bust that serves only to scare people away from pool halls?
Too funny dfrnz!! This bust happened a few weeks ago. Just because it was in 2009, doesn’t make it a year ago. December 31st 2009 was 21 days ago. As for why I talk about the blotter stuff, its mostly because pool halls need to get their respective acts together.
I had glowing things to say about Fargo Billiards in North Dakota and Parlor Billiards in Washington because they’re beautiful rooms that promote the game to all levels of players. This type of place is nothing but a skidmark on the underpants of billiards. And yes, I am telling people as loudly as possible “Stay away from Shooter’s Billiards in Wasalla”. These places are nothing but lumbering dinosaurs that need to just go away. But as always, this is just one very small person’s even smaller opinion
Meth in Wasilla? What a surprise. I hope they close the place down and put the tables up for sale.
