WPBA 2008 Pacific Coast Classic - First Thoughts

Ok, the brackets are up, so I’m going through and picking the matches that look interesting.
First Bracket
Honestly, I don’t see much in the way of potential upsets in the first round here. There’s going to be some interesting matchups in the second round with a likely Kelly Fisher vs. Yu Ram Cha draw, but this bracket should flow as expected.
Second Bracket
Xiaoting Pan vs. Michelle Rakin
I love the matchup here. Its gonna be tough for Michelle to get past XTP in the first round, but I dig the girl (well, I dig ‘em both) and I do love to root for an underdog.
Third Bracket
Melissa Herndon vs. Heather Lloyd
Lately I’ve got a thing for Heather Lloyd and this is a very winnable match for her, so I’ll be watching this with quite a bit of interest.
Fourth Bracket
Again, the first round should go as expected. Could be a very tough second round matchup for our little pixie Sarah Rousey though, as she’ll likely go on to match up against Helena Thornfeldt.
I almost forgot to mention. It seems that my pal over at OMGWTF has some friends in high places because the snarkiest lady in pool is listed in the brackets.
Ok, that’s all I’ve got for now. No Final 4 predictions until the redraw. If we’ve learned anything from this year its that we’ve never seen a field this evenly matched and competitive.
