I never thought I’d have to do this, but I’m issuing a retraction.  The other day, I gave Sarah Ellerby a shout out for making it to the semis of the Great Lakes Classic.  After what I’ve heard and read though, there’s no way that Ellerby deserves anything but a turd sandwich.

It seems that when she was playing Jennifer Chen, Ellerbitch fouled, Chen called her on it and Sarah denied it.  The ref called her on it and play resumed.  A little later the ladies took a break and when Chen and Ellerbitch walked past each other, Ellerbitch threw a hard elbow that connected with Jennifer.  Naturally, there’s been a ton of talk about this and in the process its come out that apparently Ms. Ellerbitch is pretty much universally hated on the tour and generally treats the other players like crap.

Here’s to hoping the drop the suspension hammer on her ass.

The WPBA rankings have been updated with the results from the Great Lakes Classic. Allison Fisher is still #1, but there’s a huge log jam at #2 with Ga Young Kim, Karen Corr and Xiaoting Pan all hot on her heels. Allison will likely need a very strong showing at the US Open to retain her #1 ranking.
