Pool Cue News and Review

The ladies quickly ran through the round of 16 and the quarterfinals last night to set up the semifinals which will be broadcast along with the finals next month on ESPN.

Round of 16 Results:

Quarterfinal Results:

That gives us the standard matchup of Allison vs Karen in the first semifinal and Gerda vs Ga Young Kim in the second semifinal.  No offense to Allison or Karen, but is anyone else out there getting really tired of this matchup?  Its not like we’re watching Connors and McEnroe battling it out.  She’s a nice enough person, but there’s just nothing exciting about watching Karen Corr play.  I was really hoping to see a fresh face like Anna in the semis, but what are ya gonna do?

At any rate you’ve gotta figure that its going to be Fisher vs Kim in the finals, especially with the way that they’re both playing.  Congrats to Gerda specifically on making the TV round.  Its been a while and nice to see her back on the tube.
